23.10.20 End of Term 1 summary:

What an exciting first term back! We have enjoyed coming back together and using the book ‘Here We Are’ by Oliver Jeffers, to think about our wonderful world and where we fit into it.

We have also launched our new Curious Curriculum where we have been Geographers, Scientists, Historians and Engineers. As Geographers, we looked at Ordinance Survey maps to learn about what makes our local area important. We looked at maps by the artist, Fuller, and created our own maps of our local area in his style. We shared our art with the artist via email and he sent the children a video to say how impressed he was with our artwork, well done Sycamore class!

As Scientists, we built bridges out of newspaper and then tested their strengths with weights. As Historians, we analysed Tudor inventories to discover how people lived in the past. As Engineers, we looked at different ways to clean the ocean and designed our own eco houses – no concrete allowed!
