What a long and busy term we have had in Year 6! We kicked off with an amazing week at Culmington Manor, up in Shropshire, learning to face our fears and try lots of different outdoor pursuits. The class were brilliant and tried absolutely everything that was on offer. Their grit and determination to get tasks done has helped them no end in the classroom as it is clear that they are now much more determined learners.
We have also been on a trip to Lifeskills down at the Create Centre, where the children learned how to do spot hazards both at home and out and about; they won’t be short-changed in a shop, have more than one person on a trampoline at a time, nor will they leave a pan unattended!
In lessons, we have been doing lots of structured writing, creating some fantastic character descriptions of yetis and writing and publishing our own ‘defeating the monster’ stories. It has been wonderful to see how much their writing is developing!
