In Year 2, we’ve been very busy working on our KS1 production, Babushka, but we’ve also found time to do all sorts of other things. Here, we looked at the bright and expressive art of Ed Emberley, and used his ‘how-to’ guide to re-create his characters. Instead of using marker pens for the colour, we used up all the coloured paper scraps from our Christmas Card making. The children produced some really stylish limited colour designs, capturing all sorts of expressions. They then went on to develop their own character pictures. It’s lovely to see the class gaining the confidence to draw and create their own artwork.
