The following menu will be in operation during Term 6: 2019-2020.
Due to the current situation we regrettably inform you there will be no hot meals avaiable in school. As school will be closed every Friday afternoon during T6, there will be no provision (both brought in from home or ordered at school) for packed lunches on Fridays.
Packed lunches are available Monday – Thursday at £2.05 per day, payable in advance via ParentPay.
ParentPay is now live! We no longer accept any cash or cheque payments making the school a cash free environment.
School dinners are payable either in advance or pay as you go. School dinners are NOT payable in arrears.
Parent(s)/Carer(s) who wish to continue making cash payments may do so using the PayPoint network at local convenience stores. Please ask for a bar code in the office to enable this.
From Monday 4 November 2019, the price of a school dinner:
1 day: £2.05
2 days: £4.10
3 days: £6.15
4 days: £8.20
5 days: £10.25
Please note: Should arrears occur you will be notfied, usually by text message (with a delivery report), that we will no longer be able to provide your child/(ren) with a hot school meal. You will be asked instead, to provide a packed lunch until the arrears are cleared in full.
We really hope this does not happen, but we can not allow arrears to accure. You are in complete control of your ParentPay account, you have access to it 24/7, therefore, arrears should not happen. The school is not obliged to provide food; its duty is to provide education. The option of providing food is a service that parent(s)/carer(s) pay for or receive free, if you fulfil the criteria for Free School Meals (please see and apply using the link below.)
Meals are ordered at 09:20am each day. If a child is sent home for any reason after this time, the meal will still need to paid for. Thank you for your understanding with this.
Universal Free School Meals
From September 2014, children in Forest Class (Oak & Hazel Learners) & Chestnut Class (YR, Y1 & Y2) are entitled to Free School Meals. This is known as Universal Free School Meals.
If your child(ren) are in any of the classes above, you are not required to submit an application form to ensure your child has free school meals.
If, however, you may be eligible under the standard criteria of Free School Meals (see below) we would ask that you do make an application. Successful applications will result in the school receiving additional funding from the government, called Pupil Premium.
If you think your child might be entitled to the Pupil Premium funding, download and complete the checker form (pdf, 103KB) and return it to Mrs. Smith, in the school office.
Free School Meals
You can apply for Free School Meals for children in Maple Class (Y3), Willow Class (Y4), Cedar Class (Y5) and Birch Class (Y6)
If you think your child may be eligible for free school meals, please go to the free school meals page (click here) on Bristol City Council’s website. By applying for free school meals, you could gain up to £1,300 of additional funding for our school through the Pupil Premium programme.
If your child has a Food Allergy and/or Intolerance please complete the form by clicking on the link at the very top of this page, (Chartwells Allergy & Intolerance Form) and return it to Mrs. Smith, in the school office.
Children under 5 years old are given a free carton of milk daily. Children over 5 years old can have milk in school if you wish. Parent(s) / Carer(s) can purchase milk directly from the dairy, which is based in Weston-super-Mare. Contact details: 01934 510950
