Well what a term it has been in Maple class. We have thoroughly enjoyed our learning with an exceptional attitude. Our English lessons have been filled with an exciting focus on ‘Why do bats sleep in the day?’. A very exciting fable which the children have innovated and written themselves. All of the fables are amazing to read. We have also been writing postcards to Hindu Gods and to our families, describing the similarities and differences between cities and coasts. We have been learning about the correct use of direct speech, similes and metaphors and understanding the positive effect this has on our writing.
In Maths we have concluded our learning of statistics (pictograms, bar chart and tally charts) by completing an assessment as well as a whole class investigation which has been put into a display. We have recorded the favourite day of the week for all the children in Year 3 and 4. We look forward to moving onto perimeter and length next term to build on our mathematical knowledge.
Our Topic lessons have come to an end, we will miss ‘Rocks and Light’. However, we have produced some fantastic work on the dangers and ways protection from the sun, as well as a look at some real life fossils!
A brilliant term in Maple Class, the children should be very proud of themselves!
