This term has flown by as we have enjoyed a closely interwoven English and Science topic; learning about the many perils and challenges of Shackleton’s Antarctic expedition aboard the Endurance, while studying changing materials and how to construct a sound science investigation. We have had a lot of fun exploring new scientific concepts in a meaningful context, as we were able to link everything we learnt to the experience of the crew on the expedition.
In mathematics, we have been learning about fractions and honing our reasoning skills.
In RE, we visited the New Room, founded by John Wesley, father of Methodism, in the heart of Bristol. It was very special, as we have studied his life and teachings closely this year.
In Art, we created atmospheric Antarctic landscape collages, and we have also made watercolour drawings of our impressions of the New Room.
