RECEPTION PLACES

We have 30 places available in our Reception Class, known here in school, as Oak Class.

If your child was born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017 you will need to apply for a new reception place to your home local authority.  If you live in Bristol please apply: https://www.bristol.gov.uk/schools-learning-early-years/primary-apply

For parents/carers who would like details of our upcoming dates and times for open events to meet the Head teacher and Early Years team, please click the online parent flyer link: Reception start in Sept 2021 flyer  Please contact the school office via email with your preferred date, we will then reply with the Zoom meeting id and passcode.  We are looking forward to meeting you!  Due to the current Covid arrangements we have in place, unfortunately we are not able to welcome any potential parents into school at this time, our new recording showing our school will be available shortly, but in the meantime do feel free to contact the school for any information you require.

Offers for Reception places for on time applications will be sent from the school admissions team via the portal on 16 April 2020. If you have been offered and/or accepted a place with us, we will contact you in May or early June with information about the start of the school year in September.

Children in Oak Class, will enjoy a phased entry into school in September which will include: attending morning, lunch and afternoon sessions. The phased entry allows our Early Years team to ensure that every child is settled into the start of their school life.

IN-YEAR ADMISSIONS

If you would like to apply for a place in our school during the school year, this is known as ‘In-Year admission’.

Please apply via the Online Parent Portal by clicking the following  link: https://www.bristol.gov.uk/schools-learning-early-years/in-year-admission (the school admissions page), at Bristol City Council.

When you have received notification that you have been allocated a place here at St. Michael’s, by the School Admissions Department at Bristol City Council,  please contact us, to arrange a visit and/or start date. Please also record your response via the Online Parent Portal, the link is above.

Upon arrival to school on your child(ren)’s first morning, please bring your child(ren)’s passport and/or your child(ren)’s birth certificate.

SECONDARY SCHOOL ADMISSIONS

If your child(ren) was born between 1 September 2008 and 31 August 2009 you need to apply for a new Year 7 secondary school place.  This applies to all children in Birch Class.

To apply online you’ll need to register for an account on the School Admissions Parent Portal.  Once registered, you will receive an email confirmation of your application. The closing date for applications is Saturday 31 October 2020.
